What does WPV mean?
WPV means workplace violence. OSHA describes workplace violence as acts or threats of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening behavior occurring at the work site, ranging from threats and verbal abuse to physical assault and homicide.
What are the four types of workplace violence?
Type I is criminal intent; Type II is patient/client/visitor on worker; Type III is worker on worker; and Type IV involves a personal relationship. Type II is the most common form in healthcare settings.
What is Type II workplace violence in healthcare?
Type II workplace violence involves a patient, visitor, family member, client, or other recipient of healthcare services directing violence or threats toward a healthcare worker.
What should happen after a workplace violence event?
Immediate safety and care come first, followed by reporting, support for the person harmed, structured non-blaming review, corrective action, and follow-through.
What is the WPV Readiness Pulse™?
It is a brief 10-question educational self-reflection survey that returns an overall 0–100 readiness score and three suggested next moves. The public tool synthesizes multiple proprietary prevention dimensions without publishing the detailed dimension names, weights, or scoring logic.
Who can complete the Founding 100 Pulse?
Healthcare workers and leaders who can meaningfully reflect on their workplace prevention practices. The Founding 100 is limited to one response per person and the first 100 completed responses.
Is the Pulse a compliance assessment or research study?
No. It is not a validated diagnostic, compliance, accreditation, legal, or organizational risk assessment, and the self-selected results should not be described as nationally representative.
Why does the Pulse ask for an email?
Email is used as the practical duplicate-control identifier for the one-response-per-person limit and to send a copy of the result. Pulse participation does not subscribe someone to WPV Safety Signal.
